Daggers And Hearts

your life is all about what you make of it; not what others think of it

The Midnight Lullaby

She was left to him on a Monday night

The day he lost his loving wife

She was the string that connected them

A string that he, ever since, held onto tight

He was all that she ever knew

Her mom, her dad, her siblings too

He cared for her, did all for her

He loved his little angel, Blue

One night as he lay to sleep

Off went the baby monitoring machine

The baby was awake

Crying out loud, to reach no end

Daddy sprung up and was on his feet

He paced to his little princess

Who saw him through her glistening blue eyes

And hung the corners of her lips down

He picked up his doll

And danced for a while

To their favorite song

The Midnight Lullaby
